Last week, I started looking at some of the really cool ways that people were displaying Twitter on their websites. Some people had simple buttons, others used Twitters newest Follow Button (about time Twitter!) and others really went out of their way to create some cool concepts that tied into their brand.
That Indie Dude integrated his latest tweet into his illustrated header. Cool, right?
..and if you’re real handy with PhotoShop, you may enjoy working through this tutorial that will help you create something uber unique for your tweets.
If you’re looking for something a little more basic and a lot less techy, you can opt for Twitter’s official widget. Enter your username, make a few design choices and you’re set.
You can find a slew of plugins if you’re running a WordPress site {I’ll make the assumption, because if you’re not on WordPress … we gotta talk} and you can find some great examples with codes over at Sea of Clouds.
Whatever you decide to do, please make sure:
1. That it fits your brand.
2. That you don’t list the last 20 tweets you posted – two or three is more than enough.
3. That it’s not the biggest or first thing you see on your website. Why? Because there are more important things you (hopefully) want your visitors to do then to read your tweets.
Link up to your website below and let me know why you chose to display your tweets in the way you did. Is it working?
