It’s that time of year again!

Have you started on your business’ taxes yet?  Its that time of year so it only seems fitting that we talk about Small Business Taxes. However taxes are definitely not one of my strong points. The only business taxes that I’ll tackle are my own, and even then I make sure I’m getting the help of a tax professional in the background. I also make a point of educating myself year round. So the best thing for me to do is to point you in the right direction, somewhere you can get the best information you need when it comes to Small Business Taxes.

Recently I read a great article that talks about the options small business owners have when it comes to preparing their taxes. Its called Tackling Small Business Taxes by Max Berry, and is written in three parts. You can click on the links at the end of this article to read each part individually.

Part one explains the options available if your interested in tackling your own taxes. The Do It Yourself Options. They include: Turbo Tax, H & R Block and TaxACT. The article, goes into detail about what each of the software programs offer and helps you make a decision as to the best option for you and your business.

In Part Two, Max talks about the leaders in tax preparation services: H & R Block, Liberty Tax and Jackson Hewitt. You might want to consider using one of these services when doing the taxes yourself becomes to big of a task, or if you’re just uncomfortable even attempting to do them on your own. One of the huge advantages of this option is of course having your business taxes done by a tax professional.

The advantage of having a CPA prepare your taxes is covered in Part Three. The cost of hiring a CPA doesn’t come cheap but the advantages are well worth it. When you find the right accountant for your business you’ll form a personal relationship that can last for years.

So there you have it, a very brief summary of an article, that if you take the time to read, will explain all the different options available when it comes to your business taxes. Of course since its march, you might have already completed your taxes but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a head start for next year! Below are the links you’ll need to get started with your reading.
